This series was born from my young adult frustration that society/media at large has no problem objectifying large busted women into many stereotypes and fantasies while the fashion industry does not do anything to provide literal support to those same women. Initially I began using many types of unlikely supplies to create true to size bras that were functional wearable pieces of art tied into personal narratives. As my work has progressed, the bras have shifted to tell the stories of the worldly injustices associated with the marginalized identity of being born female, as well as the strength and the power that the feminine holds. This is my longest spanning series of work which illustrates my cognitive changes and social maturity regarding understanding self in relation to others.
